Quigg Golden Limited is a leading provider of procurement advice and dispute resolution services and represents clients in all forms of dispute resolution. We also provide public and in-house training in relation to both dispute resolution and contractual procedures.

Dispute resolution would occupy a substantial amount of my working time. I have represented parties from the initial stage of considering what dispute resolution route to undertake, through to advocating the case at a hearing and dealing with costs. Apart from advocacy my role would include drafting of the statements of case, taking witness statements, instructing experts and making decisions on strategy and tactics.

Arbitration has paid a large part in my dispute resolution experience. I am a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators and a Freeman of the Most Worshipful Company of Arbitrators of London. I have taken part in revising the UNCITRAL Model Arbitration Rules at the UN and have represented parties in over 50 Arbitrations, including ICC International ones. I have also been appointed as Arbitrator. I am also competent in the adjudication process having been involved with over 100 successful adjudications and am past Chairman of the Adjudication Society.

Although heavily involved in these formal methods of dispute resolution, I am a great believer in conciliation and negotiation and take great pleasure when we successfully negotiate a settlement either within a conciliation setting or in a more informal setting.

As well as conducting litigation I assist parties in litigation by liaising with their solicitor, barrister and expert witnesses. This assists the client by ensuring that the client’s own staff and members of its legal team are pulling in the same direction, working to an effective strategy and meeting deadlines.

I often advise on the legal issues in procurement.

I have successfully represented many Public Bodies that faced challenges to their processes employed to procure construction projects, using all domestic and EU legislation to support the position and backed this up with relevant case law.

I have also represented many private clients in relation to challenging procurement processes of high value.
